Alpha Energy Holding

Alpha Energy Holding Company Limited (AEH), founded in 2016, is a professional player in Thailand's renewable energy sector, with a core focus on wind energy. AEH specializes in the development and investment of wind energy projects across the country, drawing on a team of experts with over 15 years of experience. The company’s expertise covers essential areas like site selection, wind resource assessment, energy policy analysis, and project engineering, ensuring innovative and successful renewable energy projects.

In 2016, AEH co-developed and invested in a 45 MW wind farm in Northeast Thailand, tapping into the abundant wind resources. The company played a pivotal role in overcoming challenges by conducting wind resource analysis, selecting optimal wind turbine models, and designing an efficient wind farm layout to maximize energy yield and production efficiency. AEH also managed regulatory compliance by collaborating with the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) and relevant land authorities to navigate regulatory requirements and negotiated favorable contracts to support the project’s success. With a secured 5-year rolling Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and potential for a 20-year extension through an Adders incentive program, the project began commercial operations in April 2019. AEH’s involvement was key to the project’s success, before the company later divested its stake.

In 2020, AEH partnered with Gulf Energy Development to enhance project performance and reduce risks, underscoring its commitment to innovation and excellence in wind energy. Today, AEH continues to explore new opportunities, having gathered wind data from at least nine potential sites while actively securing additional land and expanding its data collection efforts. These strategic moves aim to position the company for success in upcoming Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) opportunities, solidifying AEH’s role as a key contributor to Thailand’s renewable energy landscape.

Renewable Energy Landscape in Thailand

At 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties, held in Glasgow, Scotland, in November 2021 (COP26), Thailand committed to reach carbon neutrality by 2050 and net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2065. Together with the growth of data centers, where renewable power is becoming a key requirement for operations and sustainability commitments. To support this shift, the Ministry of Energy plans to launch a Power Development Plan (PDP) with a goal to increase the renewable energy share to 50% by 2037, with an additional 5,345 MW of wind energy for the period between 2031 and 2037.

With our experienced and specialized team in wind energy, we are dedicated to helping Thailand achieve its carbon neutrality and renewable energy targets. By delivering reliable, large-scale projects that meet the growing demand for clean power. We are well positioned to both support the country’s goals and capture this transformative industry trend.
